Step 2: At the command prompt, type diskpart and press Enter key to enter the diskpart utility
Step 3: At the DISKPART> prompt, type list disk and press Enter key
Step 4: Type select disk 1 and press Enter key, where "1" is the number of your USB flash drive from the list. (Just make sure that you select your USB flash drive only by viewing its size Remember 1GB = 1024 MB)
Step 5: Type clean and press Enter key to clean the USB flash drive
Step 6: Type create partition primary and press Enter key
Step 7: Type active and press Enter key, to make the partition active
Step 8: Type format fs=fat32 quick and press Enter key to format the USB flash drive quickly in the FAT32 file system
Step 9: Type assign and press Enter key to have Windows assign a drive letter to the drive. After that type exit and press Enter key to leave diskpart and finally type exit and press Enter key again to close the command prompt
Step 10: Insert your Windows XP/Vista/7 disc into your computer and copy all the files to the USB flash drive
That's it. Once the Windows files have completed copying, insert your USB flash drive into a computer and boot it up to start the Windows installation. Just make sure that the BIOS is set to boot the USB flash drive first.
